The First Annual Road to Recovery Conference and Tribute
December 8 - 12, 2004 | Walt Disney World, FL
The First Annual Road to Recovery Conference and Tribute to Salute America’s Heroes... To Help Heal And Honor Our Disabled Heroes.
The conference is open to those individuals wounded during combat operations in OIF or OEF. Preference will be given to those who have either received or anticipate receiving a 30% or greater disability rating.
Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida will be the site of our inaugural Conference December 8 th –12 th, 2004.
Invitees will include 400 of the most seriously wounded and disabled heroes of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as their families.
The Conference is an unprecedented opportunity for a group of very special people to share experiences. And most importantly to receive the recognition, support and encouragement many will need to overcome their disabilities and rebuild their lives. This Conference will assist our disabled veterans and their families in rebuilding their lives.
Many beneficial services are available to disabled veterans, but many are not taking full advantage of what is available to them. This conference will bring together experts from a variety of governmental and private agencies in one place, at one time, to teach our disabled heroes and their families how to use and request the benefits due them.
Conference Activities Will Include...
· Keynote Address by a leading motivational speaker-- with the theme “A New Beginning”
· Seminars on educational job training and career counseling opportunities, job seeking and placement services, employment opportunities and accessing other services
· Inspiring success stories told by disabled veterans
· Private Needs Assessment consultations and evaluations to help direct towards viable resources available to assist and serve our wounded veterans
· Special entertainment, including a Grateful Country Music Night and Sports Legend Night _________________ VAW-11 NAS North Island 1961-1966
