According to Centcom statistics. there has not been a US Soldier killed since last Saturday. The last military fatality occurred on the same day that Marines finished cordoning off Fallujah. Although I haven't counted the amount of IED incidents I would wager they've also dropped. Fallujah is showing itself to be exactly how it's been portrayed, and that's as a major base of operations for the foreign terrorists and needs to be kept cordoned off until Zarqawi and his hoodlums are killed or captured.

All of this doesn't mean the violence is over. Car bombings aimed at Iraqi forces and civilians are still happening, but this is a poor strategy for the terrorists. There have been signs that members of the Iraqi national resistance are getting fed up with the foreign terrorists, and attacks against their countrymen will increase that trend.
