More than 80,000 Americans Sign Swift Vets Petition
Online petition calls for John Kerry to set the record straight
More than 82,000 Americans have signed the Swift Vets and POWs for Truth online petition. The petition calls for Senator Kerry to set the record straight and explain to America his conduct in anti-war activities and his contact with enemy officials during the Vietnam War.
Thanks to your faithful support we have nearly tripled the number of petitioners from 30,000 to 82,000. Our goal is at least 100,000 signatures, so if you haven't already signed you can go to our website and do so right now.
Once you have signed the petition you can still help out. Forward this newsletter to your friends and ask them to consider signing this petition. America deserves the truth. Let John Kerry know that we care about the truth by signing this petition and sending him a message from concerned citizens.

An Outpouring of Pain, Channeled Via Politics (Oct. 21)
''Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal,'' the highly contested anti-Kerry documentary, should not be shown by the Sinclair Broadcast Group. It should be shown in its entirety on all the networks, cable stations and on public television.
This histrionic, often specious and deeply sad film does not do much more damage to Senator John Kerry's reputation than have the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth's negative ads, which have flooded television markets in almost every swing state. But it does help viewers better understand the rage fueling the unhappy band of brothers who oppose Mr. Kerry's candidacy and his claim to heroism.

ABC News or ABC Spin (Oct. 20)
What ABC News has done was too elaborate to be called a "mistake." Now that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth have become too well known for the mainstream media to continue ignoring them, ABC's Nightline with Ted Koppel has broadcast its "investigation" of one of the Swift Boat veterans' charges against John Kerry.
The charge was that Kerry received a medal for an incident in Vietnam that he falsely reported. How did ABC's Nightline try to establish the truth? Interview crewmembers who were on Kerry's boat at the time? No! Interview veterans who were in other boats near John Kerry's boat at the time? No!
Nightline went to Vietnam to interview people whom they had been told were among the Communist guerrillas involved in the disputed incident.

Answer this question, Mr. Kerry (Oct. 17)
Democrats who support Kerry become hysterical when questions are asked about "secret" meetings, claiming that, since their hero told the Fulbright Committee, 11 months later, about his meetings, and waited until a July 1971 press conference to demand that the U.S. withdraw from Vietnam and pay reparations (the Dragon Lady's own terms), there was no secret.
Well, it was only in March 2004, that the Kerry campaign admitted he had met with Binh, and no one is asking about Le Duc Tho. We do know that on his return to the United States, in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on talk shows and at rallies, Kerry carried the communist message with him, consistently making the point that America was the only unreasonable party at the peace talks. For him, we were fighting an immoral war and should accept the position of the enemy, the North Vietnamese.
What Kerry did in 1970 and 1971 was to collaborate with enemy combatants, giving them aid and comfort. Today, Kerry maintains that no one must ever confuse the Vietnam War with "the warriors" who fought it.

Rush, O'Neill Blast ABC's Ted Koppel (Oct. 18 )
Last week Ted Koppel's "Nightline" aired a report using the testimony of three Viet Cong communist veterans, who detailed their version of John Kerry's actions that won him his Silver Star.
To oppose them, Koppel had Swift Boat Veterans for Truth's leader, John O'Neill, as a guest.
Interestingly, the program ignored the fact that Kerry's own recollections, noted in previous books, directly contradicted the stories told by the Viet Cong terrorists, who were on the program to help Kerry.
The accounts also differed from the recollections of other Swift Boat veterans.
ABC's "Nightline" feature was so slanted in Kerry's favor that it seemingly proved accusations made against a top ABC official who wrote a memorandum arguing that it was OK for the network to favor Kerry over the president in its reporting.

An Appeal to Vietnam Veterans (Oct. 18 )
It would be one matter if Kerry took the time to explain himself and his actions in the early 1970s. We have all said and done things we regret in our lives, and it is a mark of superior moral fiber to admit your mistakes and beg forgiveness from those you have harmed. However, John Kerry is doing none of this. Instead he is systematically assaulting the character and motivations of any veterans who try to draw attention to Kerry's past record. Just look at the leaders of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth who have been forced to endure the full force of the Democratic Personal Destruction Machine and their cronies in the liberal media. Kerry has tried to parley the opinions of scarcely over a dozen vets to call literally hundreds of others, including his entire chain of command, liars. He is doing this for one reason. John Kerry does not want anyone to remember that he was willing to stoop so low as to lie about his fellow veterans and betray his country in order to start his political career.
