Over the past few months we have come to learn about many of our outstanding men and women who served our country in Vietnam. One very interesting story we discovered is that of Don Blankenship, a proud member of "The Brown Water Navy", (Mobile Riverine Force). His site is located at:
http://www.rivervet.com/
This site is a history lesson for people like myself and thoroughly enjoyed browsing every link.
You can make a small donation to keep this excellent site up and running. _________________ Tony in Boulder, Colorado |

olympian,
You are right this is a good site, I ran across it a few years ago and haven't been in recently, WOW, Don has really been busy since I was last there.
He has some info that I really enjoyed as my Uncle, one of my Hero's was a part of the Brown Water Navy, he was with Riv Ron 9 on a Monitor and was involved in at least 2 really nasty fights, one of them was the bloodiest of the year with 30 WIA.
You are correct in that there were many outstanding men and women who served in Vietnam. I have a few friends who are Vietnam Vets and I am honored to stand by and know each of them. They are good people, not the horrific monsters that Kerry and people like him tried to make them out to be. _________________ Proud 2 Star Blue Star Navy Mom

Olympian, you can learn the history of the MRF @ www.mrfa.org. The Mobile Riverine Force owned the Delta! We didn't loose the Vietnam. John F. Kerry and his friends did. _________________ "Win the Delta Come Hell or High Water!"

The mrfa.org site also has a very nice bulletin board in which I've lurked since I started doing research on Kerry - February, I think?
Really nice people there. I don't post - I'm not even registered. I have just enjoyed the stories and the admin there is an absolute peach of a person - very helpful and kind. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~
