For those who don't know, the two biggest bastions of Democrats in Texas (I think, and am pretty sure) are Houston and Austin. Well, the Houston Chronicle, just today, came out with an endorsement for Bush: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/editorial/2862496
It ain't a great endorsement, but it's really something considering Houston's policital leanings.

And then there's this from Polipundit (http://polipundit.com/):
Quote: | Readers know just how little I think of newspaper endorsements for a presidential candidate. But there’s one endorsement worth noting: The Sioux Falls Argus-Leader is endorsing President Bush.
Those familiar with South Dakota politics know just how much of a Democrat front the Argus-Leader is. This surprising endorsement is perhaps a sign that the political winds in South Dakota are blowing so much to the right that the newspaper endorsed President Bush to avoid losing readers. That is, of course, bad news for Tom Daschle in his desperate fight for re-election. |
The endorsement is at: http://www.argusleader.com/editorial/Sundayarticle1.shtml |

Wow! Then it's practically a Texas sweep! And Austin's endorsement is even more significant than Houston's.
Anybody heard anything yet from Corpus Christi and El Paso? |

Ankler, the CC paper (I read it often) tends to be leftist. I am not sure about the El Paso paper. FYI, its the Corpus Christi Caller Times if you care to check online. Nevertheless, the Austin American-Statesman endorsement is mind-blowing. For those not from Texas, Austin is known as Moscow on the Colorado (river) or kinda like WPO west. It is quite significant! |

We all know (even the Kerry people) that Bush will win Texas.
But what could be more important is the endorsements from the two Cincinnati papers in the swing state of Ohio!
Rsmussen Poll is extremely close: Bush 47.6 Kerry 47.2. Not a good sign! What can we do about this? _________________ The traitor will crater! |

In the inner-city of Houston, there are quite a few Democrats (that's why its such a mess), but the surrounding areas are pretty conservative.
