Is this "issue" simply a problem of information management?
In other words, the military is big, and a lot of reports have to be filed. Many are classified, and probably soon forgotten.
Also, doesn't the military mostly look forward during an operation?
So wouldn't it simply take a lot of time to sort through all the reams of data -- that until this week was (probably) considered unimportant-- contact the appropriate soldiers/officers, declassify, etc?
Any of you ex-military guys/gals want to opine on this?

This is a political ploy. It takes up media air time that is not focused on what Kerry is really saying.... "plan". He has no message that the people will vote for so he is throwing everything out there to keep the media attack and questioning on Bush strength and stirring up the emotions of people, raising doubt in people's minds. Now the military is DEFENDING itself. That's his "plan". His motto is Don't Trust the Military. He is sick. CTW
Never Ever Kerry

One more thing:
Just like in the "blogosphere", isn't this a case of 100s of media outlets plowing through smaller data sets, versus the Pentagon with a HUGE data set?
Or to use an analogy from the high-tech world, a case of massively parallel processing versus a single fast processor? |

CTW, I understand that, and wrote something similar to it in another thread, but my question is more about the operation of the military (Team Kerry/MSM knew it would take time for the Pentagon to ferret out the info due to its structure/operation). |
