Kerry said this during last night's speech.
"I will build a stronger military. We will add 40,000 active duty troops, not in Iraq, but to strengthen American forces that are now overstretched, overextended, and under pressure. We will double our special forces to conduct anti-terrorists operations, and we will provide our troops with the newest weapons and technology to save their lives and win the battle. And, we will end the back-door draft of the National Guard and reservists. To all who serve in our armed forces today, I say, 'Help is on the way!'"
That sounds like the draft to me. Kerry's people could argue that they will boost the active duty troops by adding more incentives for folks to join a volunteer army. That could work, however, what triggers me into thinking Kerry plans to reinstate the draft is his line, "we will end the back-door draft of the National Guard..." Wait a minute. How can you end a back door draft if there is no draft? Was that a clue to a new draft or was it just another cheap shot at Bush? _________________ Watch Kerry Implode Because Of Truth!!

at the moment, a lot of people are being turned away from various armed forces for silly reasons or sometimes because quotas are filled.
I think it'd be posssible to increase the size of the military simply by ramping up training capacities so more young people could be accepted |

Here we have a conerstone of the true Clinton Legacy. Ballancing the budget by gutting the Millitary and closing down, even selling countless millitary bases.
All the while John Kerry was on the intellegence commitee full aware of the ever greater threat of terrorism looming like a rapture on the horizen.
I just learned today one of Kerry's bizaar insights he wrote of in the 90's was the true treat of terrorism was to be Japanese mafia. Kerry a foreign affairs expert getting advice from Sandy Berger and Joe Wilson.... up untill they were exposed as complete duplicitous frauds in a time of war. Maybe that was his attraction to them, he saw a bit of himself in Berger and Wilson.
Now he acts as if they were never a part of his team. The guy is a sociopath.
Kerry that is. |
