If so, it isn't included in RCP's electoral count of 232 (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/Presidential_04/RCP_EC.html). If he's leading in Maine's 2nd congressional district, then he gets 1 ev from Maine. This would put him at 233, and it makes a big difference believe it or not. It opens up 6 new possible ways he could get to exactly 270:
- Ohio and Michigan
- Florida and Minnesota
- Florida and Wisconsin
- Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin
- Ohio, Wisconsin and Iowa
- Ohio, Minnesota and Iowa

Hello,

I'm originally from Maine. My grandfather and dad were foremen on the Bangor and Aroostook RR. My dad also served during WWII.

I hope that the people in Maine and New England will vote for George W. Bush.

TY!

Maine used to be part of Massachusetts.

John Kerry is from Massachusetts. So are the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.

The Red Sox have won 8 in a row, and won't lose again until next season.

The Patriots have won 21 in a row, and aren't going to lose until next season either. (Well, maybe once!)

John Kerry is going to lose BIG TIME next Tuesday, with or without one electoral vote from our former colony.

And when President Bush wins only one New England state on 11/02, I will have another rant about why so many people are moving from Massachusetts to New Hampshire.

Sorry, GoEagles and oasis.

Kerry's working hard on the ground in New Hampshire. Had a worker going door-to-door
today along with a few phone calls from their
campaign. We've received a lot of stuff in the
postal mail from the campaign too.

New Hampshire has a lot of refugees from
Massachusetts moving in. Unfortunately, they
try to make New Hampshire look like Massachusetts
after they come here.

Thats what happened here in Oregon when all the liberals from California migrated north and screwed up a good state

The RCP has been all over the place for the last 3 or 4 days and I doubt very much if you can put much faith in them.

If they dropped Zogby who has daily swings of 5 & 6 points (impossiblle) and TIPP who does not seem to know what the hell they are doing, maybe they could get closer

A native from New Hampshire is as rare as a sKerry supporter who served on a Swift Boat.

They are there, but they are hard to find.

And how do make New Hampshire look like Massachusetts?? Paint the foliage Liberal Pink?

I'm proud to say that my grandson is a native of New Hampshire. And he ain't no feakin' Kerry supporter, either.

New Hampshire, the Live Free or Die state has always been against taxes
and for the Town Meeting where everyone gets to vote on Town Budgets.
There's also been the practice that if you want something, you go out and
pay for it.

Folks from Mass come here and like the relatively low housing prices
and low sales and income taxes (like 0%). But they miss some of the
services that they had in Mass. So they get working on adding public
services. And then complain when their property tax bills go up.

In New Hampshire, there is no way that you can get elected if you don't
promise to oppose income and sales taxes. Even the Democrats that
run take "the pledge". And the Democrats don't mention their party
affiliation on their ads. Kind of like North Carolina.

By the way RogerRabbit, this is one of my all time favorite Reagan quotes (right up there with "I know the difference. A recession is when your neighbor losses his job, a depression is when you lose your job, and a recovery is when Jimmy Carter losses his job."). Reagan's crocodile quote is Churchillian.

I read last night that Bob Smith is endorsing Kerry.
I couldn't believe what I was reading.

Remember that Bob Smith went independent and
then came back to the party and then moved to
Florida.

Bob Smith picks Kerry over Bush
Former senator shocks Republicans

By ANNMARIE TIMMINS

October 30. 2004 9:46AM

Forget pigs, it turns out elephants can fly.

Former U.S. senator Bob Smith, who's waved a plastic fetus to protest abortion and briefly left the GOP when it grew too liberal for him, has endorsed . . . Democratic Sen. John Kerry for president. Given their many differences, it seems enough that they both oppose President Bush.

"I believe President Bush had failed our country and my party (on Iraq and federal spending)," Smith wrote to Kerry this week. "I will do all I can do to encourage my friends in New Hampshire and Florida to join me in supporting you."

The Kerry camp quickly circulated Smith's letter, but the endorsement's unlikely to win Kerry the election. Sam Cohen of Concord, a member of a gun owners group that adored Smith, thought a reporter had the endorsement wrong yesterday.

Thanks, FireFox. I found an article about Smith's endorsement on boston.com, the internet mouthpiece of the Boston Globe. The Concord Monitor is more thorough, and certainly more believable.

And BULLSEYE ashter!

This whole issue of forgotten POW's, senatorial clubiness, closed-door deals, ad nauseum, cannot, and will not be settled before Election Day. Navy Chief has done much of the heavy lifting on this issue, and it will not die on November 2, 2004.

But the Constitution of the United States originally empowered the federal government to do just two things: defend our shores and deliver the mail. They farmed the first job out to the U.S. Postal Service in 1971. The second job belongs to President George W. Bush.

There's no way on God's green Earth that John Kerry, with his murky past and questionable loyalties, is better qualified to be our Commander in Chief than the one we already have.
