I remeber hearing Darryl Worley's song a few months ago and with all the issues flying around during the presidential election I decided to go out and buy the CD as a salve for my wounded spirit (thanks Senator Kerry, you can put your Fu@#ing sword down now). I found it at my base exchange, and even though the plastic case was cracked, I bought it, because it was the last one! As a matter of fact, I think God wanted me to find it today, because I looked for it the other day with no luck, and today it was right there...
Gosh, is it a great song, and I think it is very apropos during these times, because I think we've got people in the country (and a lot of them) who are going to pull the lever for Kerry. They are wrong. They've lost heart, they've given up. That is not us. But maybe it is (see polling data). Still, it sure as heck aint all of us.
I hear people sayin' we don't need this war
but I say there're some things worth fightin' for,
What about our freedom and this piece of ground,
We didn't get to keep 'em by backin' down
Now we've got Osama negotiating with us telling us to elect the Kerry to get our @$$ out of this crack.
Guess what, Osama, I think it might be your @$$ that's in a crack! You might want to take a look around and assess the situation. Besides, you should be here trying to blow some stuff up, what happened? Oh, you can't, can you? No, that's because your sorry lame dialysis @$$ is in hiding.
Still, Osama, take heart, because people will vote the way you want them to. Yes, you do have an influence here, and yes, you have managed to inject yourself into our political process, and peaceniks and college professors and liberals and anti-war protestors are going to try and give you what you want...
Stand by, however. Just like old Europe, you might be shocked by the results of our election. You won't be able to digest it, you won't be able to understand it, but we are coming for you, and you are going to join the pink mist club in short order...
Take my word for it.
They say we don't realize the mess we're gettin' in,
Before you start your preachin' let me ask you this, my friend,
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN?

I know the Navy loves phonetics, like Bravo Zulu (ask a Navy guy), but the Air Force has a few, as well...
The phonetic I reserve for Osama is Sierra Hotel: SMOKIN' HOLE.
This @$$hat does not even deserve the smallest modicum of consideration from any of us.
If we give it, we suffer. Of course, so many of our addled citizens don't undertand the blood trade. Trust me, Osama understands it, and he's a master of plying it.
He must smolder.

Reconflyer....you have given me an idea....
I live in a college town full of DEMS. My Bush sign is the only one along my four block street. My US flag is the only one flying on this street. My highly educated neighbors think Fahrenheit 9/11 is TRUTH!!!!
I could key their cars or steal their Kerry signs...Instead I've decided to glean music off the web and for the next four days bombard my neighbors with music. Outside my window, every hour, at high volume:
Worley's Have You Forgotten
Lee Greenwood's God Bless the USA
Toby Keith's American Soldier
Any suggestions on other appropriate songs/artists?
A spiteful act but will be oh so satisfying.

I had my car keyed the same day I put a political bumpersticker on it. I'd not suggest anyone destroying anyone else's property. |

My personal favorite line from Have You Forgotten?:
They took all the footage off my TV...
Said it's too disturbing for you and me.
It'll just breed anger...
Is what the experts say...
If it were up to me, I'd show it everyday.
Some other songs to consider:
Toby Keith - Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue
Clink Black - Iraq and I Roll
Charlie Daniels - This aint no Rag, it's a Flag
Aaron Tippin - Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Flies

P.S. I am enjoying my musical Saturday. Hope my neighbors are too. |
