Folks,
Did anyone see the latest CVS Pharmacy ad? I saw the
last part of it...a chinook helicopter hoisting an enormous
W through a large city! It was cool! Not exactly subtle!
Does anyone know if the folks at
CVS are conservative by chance???? _________________

I saw it too. I thought the commercial was kinda dumb, but I also thought of Dubya when the big W was flying. |

It has been on for about 3 weeks or more. Problem is that they are removing the W (I think it is supposed to be Walgreens) so if it has undertones, it wouldn't be a conservative message but a message of W being replaced. |

CVS bought WalGreens from JC Penny I think making
it the largest Pharmacy in the country. They're
headquartered out of Rhode Island and I think
that they do a good job managing their business.
I don't know what their party affiliation is but they
make for a good trading stock. Kind of reminds me
of Dunkin Donuts. Another company that started
out in New England and is branching out to the
rest of the country. |

I thought it was Eckerds that CVS bought from JC Penny who bought it from Jack Eckerds. We have all three in this area. |

Yup. My brain archives are a bit corrupted. So what was the W then? |

I can't remember the ad right now, at first I thought the exact same thing, W as in Dubya. However, the next time I listened to the words, and I concluded that it has to do with they are beating the compitition, Walgreens. But that is just guessing. Next time I see it, I'll watch it more carefully and remember what it is about.

CVS original name: Consumer Value Store(s). Not nearly as sexy as "CVS".

I remember the stores from when I was a child.
Not really a fancy place but they seem to have lots of stuff that you need
for many of life's little needs. |

It was Eckerds that CVS bought from JC Penney. We have them
both in Jacksonville, NC. Walgreen just built a HUGE store right
across from Eckerds. Go figure. _________________ Susan R. Morton |
