Hello all ... like another poster, I haven't really considered myself as a Vet because I served at a time without conflict. Did stand alert ... Stateside ... during the Suez Crisis, but that was not conflict.
Navigator, 307th Air Refueling Squadron (KC97's), 307th Bomb Wing, 8th Air Force, Strategic Air Command, TDY to Thule, Greenland ... 1955 (Preflight), released 1958, . Proud of my service, proud to have served. Truly enjoyed my time ... would have signed indefinite except my wife said I would be single. She really didn't care for alerts, TDY's and at the end, Base Alerts for several days every couple of weeks.
Glad to be here ... from journey that started on Viet Nam Vets Against Kerry. I did not do Viet Nam ... but I am as against Kerry as any one from any time or anywhere. May The Swift Boat Vets ... and the rest of us ... help produce a positive outcome in November.
God bless all military personnel ... past and present.

Welcome aboard, NAV307 - you're every bit as qualified as any of us to speak your mind here, and thanks for YOUR service. As I remember, I didn't expect to go to war - it just seemed to happen.
