Stormin' Norman, woohoooo~!
I know he has a reputation for not... um .... "suffering fools gladly," but I always admired him.
I remember almost pulling my hair out during the Gulf War at the stupid questions that the press was asking over there - and the only spokesmen who handled them effectively were Norman Schwarzkopf and Colin Powell.
They were my favorites - optimism and totally beautiful military bearing.
And Schwarzkopf handled the media stupidity as well as Donald Rumsfeld does, today. He had that same way of saying, "You're a friggin' idiot" without actually speaking those words. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

I would have thought it was the Official End of The World if Schwarzkopf had endorsed Kerry. _________________ The last refuge of scoundrels is not patriotism; it is finicky liberal humanitarianism.--Martin Paretz |

With Tommy Frank and Stormin' Norman endorsing the President, that should get a few fence-sitters off the fence. I still have two I'm working on; hopefully, they'll see the light. As far as I'm concerned, Frank and Schwarzkopf just ooze all kinds of integrity. I think everyone can pick up on it. |

I only wish that he had given his endorsement sooner, and more loudly, and that he would have gone on the road stumping for the President, particularly in military communities--C _________________ “I haven’t seen anyone milk this much out of a bad boat ride since Gilligan” -- Dennis Miller |

Candi--It's kind of a big, major deal for a former career military guy to endorse candidates; that may account for some of the reticence.
Okay, wait: sorry. I meant to say: It's kind of a big deal for a former career military guy with ETHICS to endorse candidates.
Which is why you see Weasel Cluck and Gen. McFreek featured so prominently in the Kerrorist couppain. _________________ The last refuge of scoundrels is not patriotism; it is finicky liberal humanitarianism.--Martin Paretz |

This thread deserves a bump above my duplicate that I so carelessly posted. _________________ "And no pair has been more wrong, more loudly, more often, than the two Senators from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry"

When my husband was active duty: This is the kind of thing that used to make my husband look very...I dunno...constipated, maybe? and say to me: "Can you, just for TONIGHT, not make up any of those rhyming name things like you do about anyone at this dance/party/function?"
Being the dutiful and loving wife, I would ALWAYS say, "Sure, darlin', anythang you say, sugah..." as I silently made up THREE names for him right on the spot... _________________ The last refuge of scoundrels is not patriotism; it is finicky liberal humanitarianism.--Martin Paretz |

AS "Stormin' Norman" would say, The Kerry campaign comes under the classification of "BOVINE SCATOLOGY"....
Them r**heads didn't learn anything the last time Norm put a boot in their a**, but Tommy got the job done when he pulled that sorry sack of s**t outta that spider hole !!!
Love them both and would follow them anywhere!!! _________________ ADC USN Ret.
