How pathetic was it for the Dems to start pointing fingers at the young voters?

It wasn't Kerry being a traitor. It wasn't Kerry being a far left liberal. It wasn't the fact that the only platform the Dems ever planned on using was a hate platform against Bush.

It was those damn kids!

Who made the call to spend the effort on the young vote? Who ignored Florida a bit too much? Who made a mountain out of an ammo dump? Who alienated half of America by his anti-war activities?

It sure wasn't the kids.

Don't forget the fear tactics, all the negative campaigning by his people, and the flip-flops. Someone said a while back that while some people might publicly endorse Kerry, when they got into that voting booth, they'd start thinking who they would feel safer with...Kerry or Bush....and they'd pull the lever for Bush. And plenty of young people *did* vote for GW!

Let's face it....Kerry and the People's Party just never did get it. They tried to dismiss the Silent Majority....and last night the Silent Majority roared and refused to be ignored!

The Dems are just learning what we parents and grand parents and the GOP already know about our youth. They are bright, intelligent and very independent and they do what they D*** well please.

I always found a way to vote, even as an 18 yo on an overseas tour. Then again the US military teaches responsability to its youth.....................Rich

The commie dems ought to look real hard at their message. I think that got through loud and clear.

I'm sure Kerry will manage to blame the troops past and present in his concession speach.

Did it ever occur to the democrats that they did not offer a valuable message to the young people. Bush put it best...all Kerry offered was a littany of complaints.

The Dems need to blame themselves for selecting a terribly flawed candidate, and they need to blame the flawed candidate for not being honest with them. AND THAT'S THE TRUTH!! Let's hammer that point home!

Kerry probably looks back fondly at his youth as an anti-war radical, and blithely believes that all young people behave as he did.

I can't count the number of kids I saw dressed up as hippies on Halloween, TO MAKE FUN OF THEM!

Today's 18-30 year olds, born between 1974 and 1986, probably realized that the aging hedonist hippie generation of Bill Clinton was on a collision course with disaster, and the older ones among them remembered the "Morning in America" of a strong, plain-spoken old man named Ronald Reagan, and said "No Thank You" to a Senator who never left the 1970's.

By the way, where is Jimma Carter these days?

George Bush to John Kerry: Don't mis-underestimate the voters!

My son jokingly told me that the new "Grand Theft Auto" game just came out and that its October release was a Carl Rove tactic/Oct. surprise. Wink

I heard that the number of voters between 18-26 was about the same as 2000.

Skerry and the Dems will blame everyone and everything except themselves for their debacle. They thought they had this thing wired by their lies and coverups. Now, they have to face the American people. The old media is done for. Skerry should move to France! Twisted Evil

I heard on NBC that the so called "youth vote" the Dems trumped up and MTV sought to influence with ads they touted as bipartisan when they were anything but...that youth vote consituted 17% of all votes cast yesterday and IS THE VERY SAME PERECENTAGE THE "YOUTH" CAST IN 2000! Twisted Evil

somewhere on this forum, someone mentioned that they looked at their college kid's cell phone bill and realized that they are up most of the night and sleep till afternoon.... One report (I forget the station) mentioned long lines in the evening in a college town.

So while these kids may have been swayed by the rock the vote campaign, somehow getting out of bed to stand in line or looking at the long line, getting and staying in it just wasn't in their plans for the day....

on the other hand - it you have a good foundation from your parents - you are probably the student who gets up for the early class, studies, listens to everything, filters out the liberal bs and votes!

It wasn't the young voters. It was the ones who have the OLD party for years. They were cocky, arrogant and thought that they were undefeatable. They were full of themselves and overconfident. They underestimated their opponent and his supporters. And, they never saw swiftees before.
