Aside from being born and a lifetime of fabulous self-promotion I believe the one thing that did most to invigorate opposition, raise hackles, summon hoots of derision and stir indignation especially among otherwise dis-interested vets was.....
That wimpy, disrespectful salute, "Reporting for duty."
And, anyone who refered to it as 'smart', 'snappy', or 'military' was instantly identified as the enemy, ignorant and partisan. |
