How sad to be in total denial. God bless all the Vets, the real reason the good guys won. |

Naw. You have to think like a politician. Kerry has no political career left if he admits that he lost because of a "residual" issue. If he lost to the Swiftees then he would be admitting that he had character and record problems. If he lost because of so-called "values" then, ditto, he would have remaining residual problems. But by blaming his loss on a one-time current event, Voila! - no residual issues to haunt him in the future.
It's simple. The man did not get to be a US Senator without learning how to spin things: past, present, and future. |

By blaming the tape at the 11th hour, he basically becomes a victim.... Next some henchmen will re-bring up that the right wing conspriators had something to do with the tape and its release...
Whine, whine, whine, You lost, in spite of all kinds of things rigged for you... you lost.... Get over it...
Look to what you could have controlled and changed for the better....
There were many things that might have changed the outcome... Look to LEARN from the experience --- not who/what to blame.... That's how we grow..
But, I think his growth got stunted early on..... |

MajorHavoc:
Kerry's statement is also irresponsible. It implies OBL had influence on our elections and that's absurd. We're not Spain. The reasons for Kerry's loss is well summarized on this site.

The clod should look in a mirrror. There is the reason for his loss looking right back at him. The man in the glass.
THE MAN IN THE GLASS
When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day,
Just go to a mirror and look at yourself,
And see what THAT man has to say.
For it isn't your wife or family or friend
Who judgement upon you must pass;
The man whose verdict counts most in the end
Is the one staring back from the glass.
Some people may think you a straight-shootin' chum
and call you a person of place
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the face.
He's the man to please, never mind all the rest
For he's with you clear up to the end,
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test
If the man in the glass is your friend.
You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you've cheated the man in the glass. _________________ 8th Army Korea 68-69 |

Keys:
You're absolutely correct that Kerry is denial. If he had any stones at all he would accede his defeat and move on. In retrospect it's sobering that a scum bag like him was able to run for the presidency. We need to focus our efforts on getting Kerry removed from his Senate seat and to banish him from public office forever.

Gocars,
A lot of us feel like that. This one might just be pissing into the wind, but I signed it anyway.

As sKerry is back to the Senate he could move for a committee to investigate whether Karl Rove didn't borrow the Smithsonian's SR-71 and make a secret trip to the Afghan/ Pakistan frontier somewhere to meet UBL and pick up the tape. Bill Burkett probably has some documents as well. Dan Blather is available soon and could be hired as chief investigator. _________________ 8th Army Korea 68-69 |
