Good news on several fronts from the Ohio recount:

TOLEDO, Ohio -- A federal judge on Tuesday denied a request by third-party presidential candidates who wanted to force a recount of Ohio ballots even before the official count was finished.

U.S. District Judge James G. Carr in Toledo ruled that the candidates have a right under Ohio law to a recount, but they have not shown "that they will be harmed irreparably if the recount is not completed by the time Ohio's electors to the Electoral College must be certified."

The judge said Green Party presidential candidate David Cobb and Libertarian presidential candidate Michael Badnarik could not credibly claim that they did or could garner enough votes to have Ohio's presidential electors cast their votes for them.

The two third-party candidates received a combined 0.26 percent of the vote in unofficial results. They contend a re-count is necessary to ensure accuracy.

CLEVELAND -- One out of every three provisional ballots cast in Ohio's most populous county was thrown out by elections officials who ruled the ballots were invalid.

Most of the 8,099 rejected provisional ballots -- 5,595, or 70 percent -- were disqualified because there was no voter registration records for those people.

Cuyahoga County, which includes Cleveland, counted 16,373 of 24,472, or 68 percent, of the provisional ballots cast Nov. 2. Of Ohio's 88 counties, Cuyahoga had the most provisional ballots.

So far, 40 counties had completed checking provisional ballots with 76 percent, or 47,868 of 63,038 ballots, found to be valid, according to a survey by The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Officials in the remaining 48 counties either did not return numerous telephone messages or said they were still processing provisional ballots.

Actually, it would be good to hear that the ones thrown out were for Bush. They couldn't come back later and claim the election was illegitimate then.

They said a large majority of the votes thrown out were unregistered voters.Those were the busloads democrats got from the homeless shelters and paid them to go vote.
Democrats could have won this election legally and easily if they hadn't been killing their millions of offspring in the past 33 years with "ABORTION ON DEMAND"

hmm, Maybe I'm reading this wrong.

50k provisionals (aprox) counted thus far represents 82% of the provisional vote.

Lets check out a couple of things:

50,000 is 82% of 60,975 (rounded)

There were approx 150,000 provisionals cast.

This means, the current avg overall throw out rate would have to be over 50%! (1/2 of 150k is 75,000)

That doesn't seem to be the case? Confused

Either they are throwing out a lot more provisionals than suggested..or the current percentage of ballots counted is wrong.
