INTERESTING!
If any of you have any friends that live in Estes Park, let us know,
I will be first in line to contribute to the recall if they need it.
This man is setting a bad example to the kids, the community and the nation.

Politician Who Won't Say Pledge Of Allegiance May Be Recalled
POSTED: 11:53 am EST December 15, 2004
UPDATED: 1:08 pm EST December 15, 2004
DENVER -- A recall election is now set for an Estes Park, Colo., trustee who refuses to stand up and recite the Pledge of Allegiance during the Town Board meetings.
"I have not been standing for the Pledge of Allegiance due to a conflict I have with the wording of the pledge, specifically the words 'under God,'" Councilman David Habecker said.

Habecker said it's a violation of church and state to include the words in the pledge and for that reason, he won't stand.
The board began reciting the pledge before meetings earlier this year at the suggestion of Trustee Lori Jeffrey-Clark. She suggested it as a way to show respect for the country during wartime.
Jeffrey-Clark said Habecker is expressing his personal views, not representing townspeople, when he sits down.

Habecker, who's served on the Town Board for 12 years, said he doesn't oppose the meaning of the pledge, and considers himself a patriot.
But some other council members and residents are upset about his actions and have enough signatures to hold a recall election. That recall election will occur Tuesday, Feb. 15.
All residents will vote on whether to recall David Habecker and a choice for his replacement in the event the recall passes. The recall is expected to cost a few thousand dollars.
"I'm sad for the community, that there is that much intolerance in our community. But if the people want to have a voice in what's going on, this is their way of doing it. And I will respect whatever the wishes of the community are," Habecker said.
Estes Park, which has about 5,500 residents, is the eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park about 60 miles northwest of Denver.

GOD out of the Pledge of Allegiance,
CHRIST out of Christmas.
How can a minority be allowed to force our Nation to
turn it's back on God??

Because we let them. The courts are the major problem, they over rule the will of the people. California is the worst, we have some waco federal court up in the Bay area and liberals are dispersed within the court system throughout the state. Hell the illegals are sueing the Border Patrol now.

The left is making the claim that we are a secular society and not a theocracy. In doing so they are setting up their own straw man, ie. if we are not secular then we must be a theocracy, since the 1st Amendment prohits a theocracy then we have to be a secular society.

For over 200 years, we got along fine by being neither secular not theocratic. Now the liberals are finding their hold on power diminishing and have to use the courts and propaganda to get want they could not legislate. We have a long history of our government respecting and recognizing religion with out being subserviant to it. Which was the intent of the establishment clause of the 1st Amendment.

That the left is refering to those who stand against this as the Christian Taliban or other insulting names, show that they have little to offer in substantive argument.

1st Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This is all about states rights. The people in Estes Park, CO have every right to boot his ass out for not saying the pledge. Just because congress cannot pass a law "silencing" him does not take the power from the states or municipalities from booting him and further this amendment is about freedom and every time you engage in a course of action such as joining public service you risk losing liberty, because of that very choice you had to begin with by being free, and given said right by this very amendment. People need to learn that freedom does not give you the liberty to go shoot and kill people and that it stands for something greater then most of them will ever have the cognitive ability to know. The French believe in liberty first whereas, we are true to freedom first.

GenrXr Out!

I would like to add one thing when Thomas Jefferson wrote the declaration of independance he put life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in order for a reason. Noone has the right to infringe on anothers life through their liberty. Noone has the right to pursue happiness at someone elses liberty, and finally we have our happiness, but these days the left makes it out as if happiness should be the prime. We live in poorly educated days and as such it is important people remain and strive to be vigilant for these solid truths.

"I'm sad for the community, that there is that much intolerance in our community" ????

That much intolerance?! What about his own darn intolerance? If he had one bit of respect for this country, or the citizens in it - with all their varied beliefs in God - he'd stand in respect, regardless of whether he believes in God, or thinks we all just crawled out of the swamp! Intolerance indeed! Evil or Very Mad

Well said and pointed truth MLB. It is a wicked enemy we face who can blame fault on all others yet reign supreme from judgement on all subjects.

What really saddens me is how so few people even given the best education our country gives understands that the weakness in freedom is due to our intellectual roach infestation.

According to Bill O'Reilly, Soros just contributed $4 million to the ACLU.
What does he have in common with the ACLU? I wonder.
They are both intent on bringing this country down!
With him being a naturalized foreigner, I think every law enforcement agency FBI, CIA, Secret Sevrice should do a thorough investigation on his motives and his political connections.
BEFORE HE SUCCEDES!

O'REilly has been hammering the ACLU lately,
last night he even called them "our enemy".
He is 100% right for a change!
He's also been hammering on Kofi every night.
