What a yuk fest! It started off with the claim that the report might be out by the time we were reading the article. Well the article is out and the report isn't even on the horizon. What happened to "weeks instead of months"? I think that September 22, 2004 qualifies as months ago, don't you?
Then of course there is the slam against the bloggers as using opinion instead of facts to attack Rather. It took what, maybe a couple of hours for Powerline and Instapundit to show that the report was written on the default setting of MS Word? It then took the MSM a couple of days to find out that the IBM Selectric might be able to produce the same font but not the same spacing. Yet this was run up the flagpole as proof of the documents validity without, mind you, even checking to see if the TANG even had one of these machines.
Bottom line. Where is the report?!! _________________ John Kerry. A Neville Chamberlain for our times. |

Whoops! I meant Little Green Footballs instead of Instapundit. As my Dad used to say, "Listen to what I mean, not what I say!" _________________ John Kerry. A Neville Chamberlain for our times. |

I just started a new job before Christmas. While cleaning up a huge mess in the supply closet I found a selection of the little typing balls used in those old selectric machines, any one need one? _________________ "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I’m here to help." This one really ticks me off. The Journalism Review concept really started on order to keep a critical eye on the media in order to help news outlets stay on track with style and truth. It has now become, in this case, a situation where they have become the lap dogs of MSM, the alphabet networks plus NYT and AP. It's no wonder. They have lost their independence. I notice this on their contacts page:
Quote: | Major Donors:
The Ford Foundation, The Knight Foundation, (can you say Knight Ridder?)
Donors:
Cabot Family Charitable Trust, The MacArthur Foundation.
|
Sheesh...Journalism Reviews used to be funded solely by subscriptions.
What a waste of perfectly good word processors. I'm sure MSM needs authentic looking documents all the time. _________________ ETN2 PTF2 (Littlecreek Underwater Demolition Unit 2 1963)
