I'm proud to be part of this brotherhood....
CLASSIFICATION:UNCLASSIFIED
Marine 1st Sergeant Brad Kasal (in the middle). This photo is from the
most recent major offensive in Fallujah. 1stSgt Kasal sacrificed his own
safety to save a room full of fellow Marines. He ended up taking several
AK rounds in the leg. Most of his lower leg was blown away but you can't
tell it from this pic. He took rounds in the back which his armor saved
him from. He took one round through his butt which passed through both
cheeks leaving 4 holes in him. And he also took the brunt of a grenade
blast. He jumped on top of a younger Marine to cover him from the fire.
He killed the enemy who did most of the damage to him and his men, and
despite a massive loss of blood he never stopped fighting. Notice that
he's still holding his pistol. He has been put in for the Medal of Honor
for his actions on that day. He already has several Purple Hearts
for previous battles throughout his career and he has turned some
down so that he could stay with his unit. [/img][img][/img] _________________ "Old Breed, New Breed, There's not a DAMM bit of

Purple Heart recipient Senator Kerry ought to be forced to look at this picture and commentary and then reflect on the validity of the medals he wrote himself up for, namely having several grains of rice embedded in his butt. What a contrast!

Kerry couldn't even begin to grasp the poignancy and significance of the picture of this brave Marine.
geotilman is dead-on in his assessment; Kerry is not worthy of viewing this picture.

Subject: RE: One tough Marine
Next time someone says they had a tough day at work remember this Marine!!!!!!!! In these days of cowards almost everywhere else you have to wonder 'Where does America get heroes like these Marines and Soldiers' ????
One tough Marine ! The following words and the picture were sent to many of those on informal blogs in a DOD supply center where I work. There are military members here who have been deployed to Iraq and know the truth about these heroes and that we ARE winning the war. Because of them we get can get a far clearer idea of what is really happing in Iraq. I highly recommend checking the following .mil site each day to see unfiltered what is happening in Iraq and Afganistan: http://www.defendamerica.mil/

While in the hospital he has met President Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and several other celebrities.
He said that President Bush came in by himself and had a very long, sincere, and friendly visit with him.
I am not sure how he is doing now but I hope he gets the MOH and pray he will recover/
I still believe that the construction worker at ground zero of the world trade center who told President bush "whatever it takes" had it right
God bless everyone everywhere that is fighting for our freedom both in hell holes around the world and supporting them in any way possible |

Thanks for the update. Proves a grunt can get the MOH if he survives the bullet holes. (I'm hoping he get's it anyways).
My unit in Nam had 4 or 5 MOH's and a cluster of Navy Crosses (that's one below the MOH for my doggie friends) Seems the Officers got the MOH for stuff that might get a grunt a bronz star. Of the 5 4 were officers and one was a E5 who saved the officers bacon who also got the MOH on Operation Hastings so I guess they felt compelled to give it to the E5 since he did about double what the Officer did. I always bust the Officers at reunions about why they didn't write up more medals, answer always was if you wanted medals should of joined the Army. _________________ "Old Breed, New Breed, There's not a DAMM bit of

According to Marine Corps times, he wasn't put in for the MOH. They didn't mention if he was put in for something else. _________________ "Old Breed, New Breed, There's not a DAMM bit of

THE BEST COMEBACK LINE EVER!
Marine Corp's General Reinwald was interviewed on the radio the other day and you have to read his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children. Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you gotta love this!!!!
This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion of
National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster and US Marine Corps General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to
teach these young boys when they visit your base?
GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?
GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous
activity to be teaching children?
GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers.
GENERAL REINWALD: Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but
you're not one, are you?
The radio went silent and the interview ended.
You just gotta love those Marines! _________________ "Old Breed, New Breed, There's not a DAMM bit of
