Some pics of a HumVee after it encountered a ied - and this was a armored one.

Crew from Oregon NG - believe it or not they survived but all were badly injured

I stand corrected on this statement - the driver died

Is this the one with the added armor they've been talking about over the last few months?

That was not a Up-Armored HUMMVEE.

It appears to mabe have some "ghetto" armor on it though.

When I was in Iraq, thats what we had to do. We took the side skirts from a T-72, cut and welded them on our HUMMVEE. It worked pretty well

According to the SFC who was in the passenger side of the vehicle when it was hit - it was a armored vehicle. He told me if it was not he woule not be speaking to me. I will be seeing him in a day or two again and I will ask if it was homemade or "ghetto" armor

I talked to the SFC today and he said it was a Humvee armored at the factory and it only had a couple hundred miles on it
