Fred Short was a Kerry crewman during the Silver Star action It has been reported that on March 17, 2002 he sent an email that indicated Kerry’s 2nd PH was awarded for a self-inflicted wound without enemy action. This was referenced in UFC on page 78. Later he disowned this email. The content has been posted in a number of locations.
Has the original email been posted anywhere? Has short commented on how this email came into existence? Does he claim it is a forgery? |

I have heard about the e-mail, but forgotten what the content was, just that he disowned what he said later.
I can't imagine how he could comment on Kerry's 2nd PH, as he wasn't even in Vietnam/with Kerry at the time.
