When a man gives his life protecting others he is a hero. That is what Mark Wilson did yesterday when he tried to stop the rampage in Tyler Texas. It is believed that his sacrifice saved the life of the victims son. Mr. Wilson, tried to stop a man with an AK-47 using his CCW. He was able to get off two shots to the perps body while the perp was reloading. Tragically the perp was wearing two bullet proof vests and Mr Wilsons shots were ineffective. The perp was able to finish reloading and kill Mr. Wilson. You will have to search the internet to find this story as the MSM is not reporting it completely, as usual. Here is a link to a thread that has some second hand info http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=349575&perpage=25&highlight=&pagenumber=1

Rob, I live near Tyler. My daughter is a police officer there and was on duty yesterday when this happened.
The link below is to the local TV station coverage. There are several videos provided, newscasts, witness interviews, on scene reporting of the aftermath, etc.

God bless men like Mr. Wilson.
You'd think someone would think of either banning or ENFORCING any applicable bans on vests/body-armor.
I'm serious, this is the same problem that the cops in California ran into a few years back with those bank robbers. They finally got one with a head shot, and the other killed himself. If the robbers had had no vests/armor, that fight would have been a LOT shorter, even with the robber's advantage in having automatic weapons. It doesn't matter how you're armed if there's enough people shooting at you.
My heart goes out to his family. _________________ It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish.
