Texans who served in the Vietnam War could be honored with a statue on the grounds of the Capitol. The House unanimously approved a bill Thursday that would allow the State Preservation Board to move forward with a privately funded statue commemorating those who served, including more than 3,400 Texans who died in the conflict. "The men and women who served our nation during that era deserve a lasting tribute for their loyalty and patriotic service to their state and nation," the bill says. The Senate must approve the measure, and then it would head to Gov. Rick Perry. New Statue |
