"When it comes to cashing in on family connections, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's relatives can't hold a candle to the clan of Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, who's sponsored legislation that netted his family hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees." |

Quote: | Reid's response to the obvious conflicts of interest?
"Lots of people have children, wives and stuff that work back here," he insisted. "It is not as if a lot of cash is changing hands."
Hundreds of thousands of dollars - not a lot of cash?
One wonders how journalists would have reacted had Tom DeLay said that. |
dems just blow it off when their hands are in the till, but Tom DeLay is held to a higher standard than Reid??
the Repubs need to grown backbones and stand behind Delay _________________ .

Quote: | The bottom line is that if the “Ethics Committee” wants to persecute one individual for, ostensibly, breaking the rules it needs to go after all of those who have participated in said rule-breaking. There are so many House members who have violated the rules against nepotism and lobbyist-paid-trip-taking that we could probably effectively shut down Congress without Harry Reid’s help. |
