I was going through my 42 CD set from the National Archives and came across a section on Pearl Harbor which had over 300 photos of that fatal day. I know that Pearl Harbor has been compared to 911, but since my only exposure had been from high school and Hollywood, it never really connected as to 911 because I witnessed 911 and saw the magnitude and the tragedy. While viewing these pictures, I saw the tragedy of Pearl Harbor as if I was looking at the events of 911. The symbols of America's strength were attacked in both situations. Seeing the before and after pictures of Pearl Harbor, as well as the massive ships lying in ruins, made me wonder why this tragedy never connected with me before? I will never forget 911, but now I realize that the next generation might never realize the tragedy of what happened on September 11, 2001. Worse than that, the next generation might think that Faranheit 911 is the real story of what happened since those same liberals/Professors blame America today. I will definately make it a point in my life to discuss 911 when I get older to every youngster that will listen.
Here's a couple of shots from the Pearl Harbor archive. You can download the entire PDF file at http://www.swiftboatarchives.com/phphotos.pdf
