As if we didn't already know?
Quote: | McCain: I ‘Absolutely’ Want to Be President
Wednesday, June 1, 2005 2:29 p.m. EDT
Sen. John McCain says he "absolutely” wants to be president – but hasn’t yet decided if he’ll run in 2008.
In a wide-ranging interview in the June edition of Men's Journal magazine, the Arizona Republican also reveals:
· John Kerry "discussed” the possibility of McCain running as his vice presidential candidate.
· U.S. troops could be in Iraq for another 50 years.
· Colin Powell will never run for office.
· Dan Rather was definitely fired over the Rathergate flap.
In the interview, McCain – who has had prostate surgery and treatment for melanoma – said his health is "excellent” and sees no problem in running for president even though if elected in 2008, he would be 72 – "about what Reagan was.” |
REST OF ARTICLE
Maybe, before he "decides" to run again, he should make up his mind which party he wants to represent. Last I heard, Republicrats don't fare well.
Ripping the rug out from under Congressional Leadership also doesn't gain him any support. _________________ Clark County Conservative |

Sorry Capt. McQueeg, you will have a problem getting re-elected if you get that far. The Republican base doesn't trust you. The Democrats won't support you in the long run. Time to go away and shut up.
If there are two people the Republican base will work to prevent being President it is John McCain and Hillary Rodham Clinton Rodham. _________________ 8th Army Korea 68-69

I have some pretty serious questions about exactly what took place when McCain and Kerry were working on the POW/MIA committee. I heard from a very reputable source that they both decided to destroy documents that would have lead us to live POWs, in order to "normalize" relations with Vietnam. If so, there is NO WAY McCain can be elected, he should be in Levenworth with Kerry.
Who's going to ask him about this? We need some answers if he's going to run, and we need them NOW, not the week before the primaries.
Edit to add: Quote: | Looking back on the last election, McCain said he believes John Kerry mishandled the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth controversy.
"He should have responded immediately. I think that was a mistake – not responding. You can’t leave charges like that unanswered." |
Okay, respond then when we ask you. I'm betting you don't. |

I totally agree that McCain has a dark past when it comes to the POW/MIA issues. I just don't trust him, especially being so smug close with JFn Kerry. Have heard that in 1993 he and Kerry were quite close on NVN trip while excluding a lot of the other veteran group representatives from many of the meetings and sites. So much so that my source says it was very obvious. Many secretive type meetings were held by McCain/Kerry on trip and incountry. |

My darkest fear is that McCain would be the Republican nomination and Kerry would be the Democrat nomination. I think I would stop the flow of immigration from the south and move to Mexico. _________________ Terry Boone PCF 90

Neither is likely. If it did, Calypso Louie's mother ship will land. And Rod Serling will return to give us the election return. McCain will stick out a compromise Exec sharing plan where one of them will only have power in extreme circumstances under UN approval. . _________________ 8th Army Korea 68-69 |

Don't get me started on HIS service record...his flight jacket speaks for itself(if his daddy hadn't been flag, he'd been out on his ass long before he ever made to 'Nam) and there is much speculation as to exactly how he spent his time as a POW.... _________________ Warm Regards,

Zuni rocket accidentaly fired from an F-4 hit McCain's Skyhawk. He bailed over the wing and ran as it began burning. About 5 minutes later a 500lb. bomb detonated and killed almost all of the fire-fighting crew. The fire spread, the explosions continued and the ship was barely saved. After that, it was referred to as the "Forestfire"
McCain is actually quite a lucky fellow to be alive, considering all the crap he's been through. You would think he would be a little more humble from the experience. The fact that he's not makes me suspicious.

I've heard that rumor, too. I guess we could ask some of the POWs he was interned with, it's not like they're not our closest allies in politics. |

Actually he bailed out over the nose. Bud Day who was in our commercials shared a room with McCain for some time in the Hanoi Hilton. I believe he has a website still against Kerry. _________________ Terry Boone PCF 90

John McCain Launching Cable News Network
Written by Jeremy Robb
Monday, May 30, 2005
WASHINGTON, DC --- Senator John McCain announced
plans to start his own cable news network today in order
to get more time in front of a camera. Frustrated that
he can only get the main news networks to interview
him for a few hours each day, McCain has plans to
launch the McCain News Network (McCNN).
"It's important that I am on television as much as possible,"
said McCain. "I'm not very popular with the majority of
Republicans, but being on television all of the time gives
the impression that I'm very popular. And that's why I
do this senate thing. To get on television. Now people
can tune in 24-hours a day to see me strutting my stuff
and undermining the GOP to get more attention. I'm a
genius."
Senator Hillary Clinton was rumored to be furious about
the announcement, because she did not think of it first.
The two senators have a history of battling for the most
media attention. "She's devastated that John has the
upper hand now," said a Clinton insider. "Hillary was
working on a reality show based on her daily routine,
but John will have his face on television all day every
day now. There's panic in her camp to do damage
control and find another way to get more publicity.
A lot of people already call CNN the Clinton News Network,
but that's an unofficial relationship. Clinton is trying to
think bigger."

Right, he went along the refueling probe onto the deck. He also got wounded by shrapnel a bit later.

Oh, I know who Bud Day is. MOH recipient, so he deserves a salute from both Kerry and Bush.
I'm not too sure he's going to publicly say anything about McCain, and I'm not going to ask him to.
However, if McCain makes a run for POTUS and both George "Bud" Day and James B. Stockdale are not solidly and vocally in support of him, I'm going to take that as a resounding "No" vote on his character. Those two guys know more about John McCain's true character than his own family. |
