Kerry Touts Bush Impeachment Memo
Failed presidential candidate John Kerry said Thursday that he intends to confront Congress with a document touted by critics of President Bush as evidence that he committed impeachable crimes by falsifying evidence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
"When I go back (to Washington) on Monday, I am going to raise the issue," Kerry said, referring to the Downing Street Memo in an interview with Massachusetts' Standard Times newspaper.
"I think it's a stunning, unbelievably simple and understandable statement of the truth and a profoundly important document that raises stunning issues here at home," the top Democrat added.
The Downing Street Memo, first reported on May 1 by the London Times, was drafted by a Matthew Rycroft, a foreign policy aide to Prime Minister Tony Blair. It is said to be minutes of a July 2002 meeting where Blair allegedly admitted that the Bush administration "fixed" Iraq intelligence to manufacture a rationale for war.
Citing the Downing Street Memo, former presidential candidate Ralph Nader called for an impeachment investigation on Tuesday in an op-ed piece published by the Boston Globe.
"It is time for Congress to investigate the illegal Iraq war as we move toward the third year of the endless quagmire that many security experts believe jeopardizes US safety by recruiting and training more terrorists," wrote Nader with co-author Kevin Zeese. "A Resolution of Impeachment would be a first step."
The British memo, however, contains no quotes from either Bush or Blair, and is notably slim on evidence implicating Bush in a WMD cover-up.
Though largely ignored in the U.S. outside of rabid anti-Bush web sites like MichaelMoore.com, the Downing Street Memo won Sen. Kerry's endorsement in the Standard Times interview:
"It's amazing to me," the top Democrat said, "the way it escaped major media discussion. It's not being missed on the Internet, I can tell you that."

Ah the smoke screen starts to cover up the pending release of his military records. Of course the MSM will front page this bull so the story of Kerry's mil records are buried deep in the center section.
What a cunning guy Mr. Kerry is.

If sKerry is ready to have Bush impeached over invading Iraq, maybe sKerry hisself should first be impeached. After all, long before Bush took office or even announced his candidacy, it was sKeery calling "We must be firm with Saddam Hussein."
From the Congressional Record of November 9, 1997;
WE MUST BE FIRM WITH SADDAM HUSSEIN
Lengthy, but very revealing. _________________ Clark County Conservative |

Kerry is full of his own excrement. The Senate does not have the power to impeach and least of all that pompous, narcissistic clown. That belongs to the House of Representatives and they will give him the old middle digit for his efforts. He needs to be censured and expelled by the Senate, but as the Senate is paralyzed, nothing will come of it. _________________ 8th Army Korea 68-69

Yeah, just like your traitorous anti-American war activities escaped major media discussion during the 2004 election, Hanoi John. Don't worry though, it was NOT missed on the internet. You are a pathetic loser and shamless liar and will never be elected president of anything. _________________ Semper Fi'

Well when comparing Kerry's own deeds of Treason with what a memo quotes a third party as saying.... while charicterizing something else... all out of context. I think maybe it's a good thing this guy is'nt Comander in Chief . ..... except of his Butler/Valet.
Looking forward to learning the story behind the form 180. Ten cents says Dan Rather is now working as Kerry's 'copy' boy!! He, He, He. |

OOOoo dems are serious about this!

Please click on the link to provide information regarding pre-war intelligence manipulation and secret pre-war deals.
House Judiciary Democrats have been at the forefront of many of the most important issues facing the country. Among other things, we have successfully fought efforts by the Republicans to unconstitutionally limit a woman’s right to choose, break down the wall separating church and state, undermine our nation’s historic commitment to immigrants and refugees, erode our citizens’ civil justice protections, and use impeachment as a device to undermine our constitutional form of government. At the same time, we have aggressively pushed for new laws to reduce crime and the incidence of gun violence, and protect all of our citizen’s civil rights and liberties. We have also worked with the Majority on a bipartisan basis in taking the lead in enacting copyright and patent laws which will help maintain our nation’s leading role in innovation and high technology. This web site includes information on these and other important Judiciary Committee matters. |

Thank you for your interest in our work on the Committee on the Judiciary. I am seeking information regarding the charges made in the so-called “Downing Street Minutes” that there was a secret agreement between the U.S. and the U..K to invade Iraq by the summer of 2002, well before the president sought congressional authority.
Please provide us with any information or leads you might have regarding such a secret pre-war deal, or other efforts to manipulate intelligence or provoke a response to justify war. We will treat any information provided on this site as confidential.
Thank you for your assistance in this important matter. |
Wonder if Conyers, Kerry at all read the entire Downing Street Memo. They seem to be fixated on one passage
"But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy"
depending on the intent, and the parlance of the folks that used it "fixed" could mean something different ie focused, centering, concentrating not the "fixed" that the Dems are so used to using the word, as in fixed elections, fixed accounting records, fixed.... _________________ .

Get real. Only the House of Representatives can draw up articles of impeachment. It is no other branch's responsibility. Tell me how this is going to happen with a Republican majority. Furthermore, what would the impeachable charges be?? These people are dreaming. Additionally it would take 2/3 of a Senate to convict. If they can't do it to Slick Willy, they can't do it to anybody. This is all bluster and BS, but must be dealt with headon. They are trying to relive Watergate and the Heydays of of the Democrat Rule of the Majority and MSM. It's gone. _________________ 8th Army Korea 68-69 |

Is sKerry really ready to have Bush impeached over invading Iraq?
Why would anyone believe that sKerry has anything credible to say?
This is a man so far into make-believe that he actually remembers all those "Apocalypse Now" scenes as his own. If sKerry were to watch the movie Gettysburg, would he also remember leading a bayonette charge down Little Round Top? _________________ Swift Boats - Qui Nhon (12/69-4/70), Cat Lo (4/70-5/70), Vung Tau (5/70-12/71) |
