I saw Jack's farewell to the Brisitsh Open. What a touching scene at the 18th hole yesterday as the Scots and other fans, along with Jack's fellow competitors, took a few moments to honor this great man and golfer.
In a day when athletes constantly abuse the trust that their fans place with them, Jack has lived his life with honor and always put his family before his golf career.
I'm proud that Jack Nicklaus is an American.
PS. What an amazing honor that Scotland has put his picture on their 5 pond note. |

Farewell Jack. It was great. I remember you at the 1990 US Open chatting with the fans like so many of the others do. The fans affection for you is as great as yours for them. Long and properous retirement to you, a true legend and a man I hope many more will emulate. Thanks Jack.
