Time for a protest outside the New York Times.
Op-Ed columnist Frank Rich has stooped to new lows in attempting to create a new and defamatory verb and media meme - "Swift Boating" -implying what the Swift Vets did was "smear" John Kerry.
The rest of his article is in fact a pile of crap. His facts are so uncoordinated, my brain spins.
How much longer are the Vietnam vets going to take this horses*it from those who spat on you when you returned from duty?
In Rich's article about John Kerry wannabe Sheehan:
The Swift Boating of Cindy Sheehan
By FRANK RICH
Published: August 21, 2005

CINDY SHEEHAN couldn't have picked a more apt date to begin the vigil that ambushed a president: Aug. 6 was the fourth anniversary of that fateful 2001 Crawford vacation day when George W. Bush responded to an intelligence briefing titled "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States" by going fishing. On this Aug. 6 the president was no less determined to shrug off bad news. Though 14 marine reservists had been killed days earlier by a roadside bomb in Haditha, his national radio address that morning made no mention of Iraq. Once again Mr. Bush was in his bubble, ensuring that he wouldn't see Ms. Sheehan coming. So it goes with a president who hasn't foreseen any of the setbacks in the war he fabricated against an enemy who did not attack inside the United States in 2001.
When these setbacks happen in Iraq itself, the administration punts. But when they happen at home, there's a game plan. Once Ms. Sheehan could no longer be ignored, the Swift Boating began. Character assassination is the Karl Rove tactic of choice, eagerly mimicked by his media surrogates, whenever the White House is confronted by a critic who challenges it on matters of war. The Swift Boating is especially vicious if the critic has more battle scars than a president who connived to serve stateside and a vice president who had "other priorities" during Vietnam.
Blah blah blah blah..
How much longer are the Vietnam vets going to stand for this? _________________ "Millions For Defense, Not One Cent For Tribute" - Thomas Jefferson on paying ransom to Muslim corsairs (pirates). |

Who are the character assassins? - Saturday, August 20, 2005 10:58 PM
Frank Rich has a characteristically vicious and self-reflecting column in today's Sunday Times called "The Swift-Boating of Cindy Sheehan." This is the way the Bush Administration deals with domestic critics. By character assassination. Here's the problem Frank: The reason John Kerry drew fire was not because he criticized the war in Vietnam. It was becuase he accused his comrades-in-arms of being "war criminals" and casually and regularly committing atrocities. The reason Cindy Sheehan has come under fire is not that she's a critic of the war, but that she attacked George Bush as a fascist, a liar and a murderer. The reason Joe Wilson is discredited is because a bi-partisan Senate Intelligence Committee concluded that he was in effect a liar. If you want a glimpse of the character assassins in American politics look in the mirror. _________________ "Millions For Defense, Not One Cent For Tribute" - Thomas Jefferson on paying ransom to Muslim corsairs (pirates). |

Horowitz' site, Moonbat Central, is emerging as one of my favorite blogs. Horowitz. like Roger Simon, is an ex leftie who is now on the right side, sees things clearly and is making up for lost time. I think more guys like him are going to come over from the dark side, thanks to Looney Dean, Durbin and the rest who are so filled with hate towards the Republican party.
I truly believe that the Democrats have major problems. Starting in 2004 when the Republican party made major gains in both houses, I believe it will only get worse for the Dems.
If the Dems were unable to be dominant while controlling the news with the MSM, just think of the continued progress we will make as Fox News, talk radio and the blogs become stronger, while the MSM, especially the nightly news talking heads become weaker and weaker.
They have no vision, no positive agenda, only hatred and it's going to cost them...big time. |

Just curious, Why is Horowitz' response to Rich's listed as a day earlier (Rich's was on the 21st while Horowitz' was on the 20th)? |

Have they ever used the termS RATHERING OR cBSing?
Of course they could grab names from their own players but that wouldn't fit the agenda. Their bias is very obvious and constant. Don't look for fair and accurate reporting on their part. _________________ Hillary and Kerry in '08? Something smells!! |
