My ship came from the 'Pineapple Fleet' and still had aboard an 'Arizona' ensign in the flag locker. It was a 48 star US Flag and I never knew whether it was named for the 48th state, Arizona or for the BB Arizona destroyed with Pearl Harbor 12/7/41 when 48 stars was the flag. It was unrelated to any function in Yoko' (or anywhere else) but was held sacrosanct and I wonder if anyone had some info' on Pearl Harbor ceremonies that explains this?
