Did anyone else hear that Mayor Nagin has bought a house in Texas? Obviously he has a lot of time on his hands, that he could buy a house, enroll his daughter in school, be on Meet the Press from Dallas, all in a week, while the media attacks Bush for doing nothing!
Did you also hear that the New Orleans police Dept. had only 3 patrol boats, and two were broken? Doesn't that seem like they were totally unprepared for anything. |

What kind of statement do you think it means when most of the New Orleans evacuees have clearly stated their desire to remain in Texas rather than go back to New Orleans?
And Hizzoner the Mayor bought a house in Dallas? Hmmm.....kinda makes you wonder if he's trying to become a Texan or just running away from his responsibilities as the Mayor of the Big Easy, doesn't it? |

What did you just say?
It appears to be true.

I'd like to know who is paying for his house. Federal, donated or out of his own pocket? |

Here’s something reported Saturday by the New Orleans Times-Picayune which seems to have slipped by relatively unnoticed.
It’s mentioned in passing in the setup to an interview the T-P did with the ever gracious Mayor Nagin:
By Gordon Russell
Staff writer
In a stark reminder of how drastically Hurricane Katrina has impacted the lives of New Orleanians, Mayor Ray Nagin has purchased a home for his family in Dallas and enrolled his young daughter in school there.
Nagin, who spoke with The Times-Picayune by telephone from Dallas, where he has been since Wednesday, said he planned to return to New Orleans on Saturday. He said he will remain in the Crescent City while his family lives for the next six months in Dallas, making occasional visits to his family when possible. |
