Reluctantly, I admit to watching the West Wing.
Did you watch the West Wing tonight? They did a pretty good job with the live debate between the candidates. Forrest Sawyer moderated and asked a wide range of issues: energy, health care, education, taxes. But painfully obvious was the omission of anything about terrorism. Not a word.
Was the challenge that even Hollywood scriptwiters wouldn't come up with any positions for the Democratic candidate that might appear to be plausible? |

I, too, am a closet West Wing watcher. I do so because the writing, acting and production values are probably the best to be found in the vast wasteland these days. I thought the 'debate' episode was a departure, however, from their usual excellence. The subject of foreign affairs was, as noted above, absent.
The regular program, now in its seventh season, deals regularly with international issues which often takes the players into Situation Room crises. These episodes are very instructional when one considers the possibility of a Hildebeast being at the head of that table.
