Sources tell Drudge that early this afternoon House Speaker Hastert and Senate Majority Leader Frist will announce a bicameral investigation into the leak of classified information to the WASHINGTON POST regarding the “black sites” where high value al Qaeda terrorists are being held and interrogated.

Said one Hill source: “Talk about a leak that damaged national security! How will we ever get our allies to cooperate if they fear that their people will be targeted by al Qaeda.”

According to sources, the WASHINGTON POST story by Dana Priest (Wednesday November 2), revealed highly classified information that has already done significant damage to US efforts in the War on Terror.

It's on the news, Lott says it may have been leaked out of a meeting he was present at. Who else was there???

Whoa! Think about this just a minute. How in the world would Trent Lott know who leaked that information to the press (unless it was him)? Why would he even be "leaking" this information to the press?

This smells like something else going on that has Trent Lott written all over it.... He seems to me to have become pretty bitter lately...

I got the impression that it was a closed door meeting with cheney and republican senators only and so Lott is accusing/assuming it was someone in the meeting. I think he said that the priest article was exactly what had been discussed/presented in the meeting.

Of course, Harry Reid seems to be pinning it on cheney. Geez, can't someone give Reid something to do? He's either bored as heck or has something personal against cheney.
