The Dems are doing nothing but positioning themselves on both sides of the war issue. If it goes wrong they will say "I told you so", totally ignoring their previous pro-war positions, votes and statements. I believe many really want to see failure. They are now, however, seeing a growing possibility of success and they want to be able to say it was their actions, forcing the Presidents hand, that brought about the success. They will ignore the 2 1/2 years of hard work, sacrifice and Presidential steadfastness and leadership that set the stage for the success. They will forget that they spent most of that time undermineing and subverting the effort. They will jump on the band wagon and claim that their pro-war positions at the beginning were correct, they had not been mislead after all but the President bungled the effort and it was they who set things right by their criticisms.

When success is achieved, they are counting on everyone being so relieved that their treachery will be forgotten. You will hear "We all had the best interests of the country at heart". They may very well get away with it. Sometimes we have to leave it to a Higher Power for real justice.

This is unfortunately still the Clintonized Democrats. The party has to pass these people like a kidney stone before they are going to regain any moral ground or sanity.
