REALLY cute sarcasm from John at: http://www.extremerightwing.net/

Quote:
Analyzing Christmas symbols through the eyes of a secularist Liberal.

The following is an analysis of the various symbols and propaganda pieces of the Christian Holiday, Christmas. It was invented approximately 2000 years ago by the Christian Right as a way to generate revenue to aid the spread of anti-Semitism throughout the world. Over the centuries various symbols, all brimming with malevolent overtones have
become associated with the holiday. Here are several examples of the more commercial and underhanded

1. Every year, millions of trees are taken from their homes in the ground and transplanted into small metal stands where they will be starved of water and sunlight, wrapped tightly in electrical cords and weighed down with small knick-knacks and metallic balls. This torture is purely for the amusement of Christians. It shows their desire to completely dominate nature. In most towns across America, trees in public places, municipal trees, TAXPAYER trees are decorated in the same fashion! This is not the separation of church and state our secular founding fathers envisioned.

2. Mistletoe. This parasitic, poisonous plant is often hung in doorways or over places where people are likely to stand around for some length of time. This is a rare outlet for the sexual repression experienced by most Christians. You see, if a Christian is caught standing beneath the mistletoe, he or she is required to kiss the one who catches them even if it is not their spouse! Generally this involves massive amounts of alcohol consumed at office Christmas parties. Hypocrites.

3. Wreaths. Made from the dismembering of coniferous trees and used to ornament the front doors of Christian homes as if to say,“Hey, don’t mess with us, we’re Christians!” Some of the more emboldened Christians will mount these on the front of their cars to ward off Jews and Muslims.

4. Snowmen. Do you ever notice that all snowmen are white? You never see a black snowman, a Mexcian snowman or an Asian Snowman. Anyone think this is because snow is white? WRONG! It’s just another example of the Naziesque nature of Christian ideology trying to purge the color out of the world. Despicable.

5. Perhaps the most popular and influential symbol is Santa Claus, AKA Santa, AKA Saint Nick, AKA Saint Nicholas, AKA Chris Cringle, AKA Father Christmas, AKA Machine Gun Nicky. Every year, Santa spies on our children and based on criteria set by the fanatical Christian Right and the Bush Administration, unilaterally decides which children are deemed “good.” In the spirit of Christianity, these children are almost always White, Americans. Notice in the picture below, how Santa enslaves these poor reindeer to transport him all around the world. In some children’s books he’s also been depicted actually using a whip on these beautiful creatures. Who’s looking out for their rights?
His wares are said to be crafted in sweat shops by the slave labor of“Little People.” Human Rights Watch still has not been given access to inspect Santa’s compound at the North Pole.

HAPPY NON-DENOMINATIONAL, SECULAR DECEMBER TIME!
