|
|
For those who have followed the story of the dispicable Code Pink people who have been protesting the war in front of Walter Reed Hospital since last March, I wanted to share the incredible news!
Code Pink forgot to renew their permits for the corners next to the hospital entrance and one of the FReepers/Protest Warriors somehow got down there and applied for them! Imagine their shock when they arrived to find the good guys occupying their corners.
Gunnnutt's blog has a wonderful write up about it along with pictures! When the wounded returned to the hospital, you should have seen their shocked faces through the bus window to see supporting, waving, cheering folks greeting them instead of Code Pink!
I haven't had so much fun in a long time!!

I heard about! Great news. So now all 4 corners belong to the good guys. BZ to the FReepers, Protest Warriers, and Rolling Thunder for supporting our servicemen & women, and standing up to Code Pink every week!

Interesting that the near car in the pic bears a Weasley Clark for President 2004 bumper sticker.
This ousting of the Pinko's was indeed a triumph!

Kate,
I just went on the Free Republic web site, and you are right!

There we are and having a great time, too! Doll was going to join us, but couldn't go at the last minute so we are hoping she'll be with us next week! If we can't be working for the Swift Boat Vets, helping the FReepers is a wonderful way to show the troops we care about them and their mission.
A guy came out of the gates at the hospital and turned out to be an employee in one of the labs. He informed us that he was against the war simply because of the economics. He was mad that we were spending so much on it and we should be spending that money on social programs. He was amazing. So, one of the FReepers asked him if he'd be against the war if we could do it for less money and we couldn't get an answer out of him. No distress because of casualties, just the number of dollars being spent. Blew my mind!

Awwww... now, that's beautiful! I'm so proud to know people like you!
How totally cool it was that someone was right there to snatch up the permit! Our troops don't have to face that CP-BS any more.
I'll be smiling for days. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~
