I have been asked to speak at the local Memorial Day ceremony. I plan to read letters from service members from Iraq and Afghanistan.

A while back I read an account of a patrol that approached a young Iraqi girl sitting in the road blocking their way. As they got closer they saw she held a toy they had given the area children earlier. Closer still they saw she was sitting next to an IED. She was blocking their way to protect them.

Did I read that on this forum and if so could someone help me find it again?
