Adam Sandler was 'outed' as a conservative about a year ago and upon reading the reviews for his latest movie one cannot help but feel the negative reviews are more about a dislike for Sandlers philosophy as opposed to his movie.
This is a very religious movie and no review read refers to the Faustian deal with the devil as shown by the Angel of Death played by Christopher Walken. The way Sandler handles this deal with the dark angel is brilliant and it is my belief reviewers without an understanding of the nature of man and religion do not comprehend what has taken place or at the worst because of ideology cannot bring them to acknowledge it.
This is a very heavy movie which will tug at your heart near the end, yet Happy Gilmore lets us off the hook and gives time for those with teary eyes to dry up before the credits roll.
For those who disagree with the angel being the devil the remote was left on the table at the end of the movie. The contract was shown while Sandler slept and he had the choice to take it after he woke up. Being a good man who loves his family he chose to throw it in the garbage can. _________________ "An activist is the person who cleans up the water, not the one claiming its dirty."
