I first met the Master Chief in 1984 right after my Chief's initiation at the CPO Club at Little Creek Amphib Base. He was a regular contributor of some great sea stories. In 1986 he traveled down to Port Canaveral, Florida and met with the crew of the USS Preserver (ARS - 8 ) while we were performing SALVOPS on the Challenger.

A truly inspirational man, a great diver and a true sailor.
