When Beethoven wrote the Piano Sonata No.14 also known as the Moonlight Sonata in 1801, mankind had reached the pinnacle of creative endeavor. It is difficult to determine what creative forces will be released in the future, yet one can argue the modern day occident will enter a new renaissance once we conquer political correctness, multi-culturalism and their unholy child barbarism. Until we reach this point no reason not to share a few good tunes from the last 30 years.

1970’s - Bossa Nova music is dying and symphonic rock bands get huge and just as fast die, although Queen did stay strong through the 80’s.

Tom Jobim & Elis Regina – Aguas de Marco
Electric Light Orchestra – Turn to Stone
Super Tramp - Dreamer

1980’s – The decade of post punk rock.

The Art of Noise – Moments in Love
Tangerine Dream – Love on a Real Train
Echo and The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon
The Cure - A Forest

1990’s – Marked by music that gets old fast and nothing worth mentioning.

2000’s – Ahhh, we are back to the 80’s again. Was beginning to think the 90’s would never end.

New Order – Turn
Modest Mouse – Float On

Enjoy!

GenrXr,
Thanks for a refreshing break. Music, thank God for Music.

I like ELO and would like to add my all time favorite to the 70's

Jerry Jeff Walker - 1973 Viva Terlingua (MCA CD)

LP, MCA - MCA37005
CD, MCA - MCAD-919

1. Gettin' By (Jerry Jeff Walker)
2. Desperados Waiting For The Train (Guy Clark)
3. Sangria Wine (Jerry Jeff Walker)
4. Little Bird (Jerry Jeff Walker)
5. Get It Out (Jerry Jeff Walker)
6. Up Against The Wall Red Neck Mother (Ray Wylie Hubbard)
7. Backsliders Wine (Michael Murphy)
8. The Wheel (Jerry Jeff Walker)
9. London Homesick Blues (Gary P. Nunn)

You will always want to listen to this album.
I think he is one of the best that ever picked up a guitar.

Enjoy!

oh man I haven't thought about Jerry Jeff Walker in years. I got into him while at Shepard AFB for Tech school.

Listening to Walker reminded me its time to start a folk singer collection. Good stuff.
