Sacha Baron Cohen, who plays Borat in the number one movie at the box office, is a Jew. Not a single review has mentioned this or the fact that the movie is far more about Muslim backwardness towards Jews than an attack against ‘Red State’ America. Cohen is a real culture warrior.
Basil Poledouris passed away this week and may he rest in peace. Most artists and scholars go through life without ever creating an artful masterpiece or original thought. Basil was fortunate enough to create his masterpiece soundtrack composition for the movie Conan the Barbarian. Conan is a movie which would have been forgotten and relegated to less then B status if not for the brilliant music. It is safe to say there would be no Arnold Schwarzenegger the Actor/Governor without the music of Basil Poledouris.
