The New Proletariat
Does your child go to a good school? If you answer yes, it is hardly surprising. A common response is Suzy or Johnny has the best this or that along with teachers covered from head to toe in awards and ribbons. Of course the question was not about the silly ways in which the unoriginal, boring and incompetent heap praises upon each other to give meaning to their frustrated existence.
We are creating a new class of person in this country and it is the uneducated educated. This is the new proletariat. Although this class of person is dissimilar from say the illiterate Khmer tribesmen whom Pol Pot used to great effect, there is no difference between this new educated proletariat class and the Khmer people’s awareness of their world.
