Soemtimes I think that if it weren't for the blog news I'd have no news at all. Ha! I was wondering if the Swiftvets keep up with all the things noticed and reported on about Kerry military discrepancies in the blogworld? Just curious.
For example:
John Kerry's Mysterious Combat “V”
By Henry Mark Holzer and Erika Holzer
FrontPageMagazine.com | August 20, 2004
As the authors of Fake Warriors: Identifying, Exposing and Punishing Those Who Falsify Their Military Service, we receive scores of emails on our website either asking questions about the Fake Warrior phenomenon (which has reached epidemic proportions), or reporting sightings which sometimes lead to exposure and even fines or jail terms.
One Vietnam vet with nearly forty years of military service who retired as a major, spurred on by the revelations in our book, and, in his words. “having seen hundreds of DD 214s” (a veteran’s Record of Transfer or Separation), recently decided to take a close look at John Kerry’s DD 214, which is posted on his website. What the major called to our attention, which we have since verified, raises some extremely troubling questions about John Kerry’s Silver Star. Keep in mind that the Silver Star is the third-highest medal our Nation can bestow (after only the Medal of Honor and the three service “Crosses”).
Kerry's DD 214 lists a Silver Star with a combat “V” (for valor). As the major correctly observes, the “V” is never awarded with the Silver Star. But the actual wording on Kerry’s DD 214 (see www.johnkerry.com) is: “SILVER STAR WITH COMBAT ‘V’.”

Well, this would only be a BIG deal if the actual DD214 image has this in one of the PDF's. I don't have the DD214 image handy, but I don't recall any comments about the "V" in the image. If this is just something an aid wrote manually on a web page then it is obiviously an honest typo by a confused civilian. _________________

Here ya go, bandit:

The correction:
http://www.johnkerry.com/pdf/jkmilservice/DD214.pdf
(No correction of the V on the SS, though. )
Wonder how long that will stay on the Kerry site?
If it's not there when you get there, I've saved copies of both. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Well, that was just one example. The blogs are full of similar discrepancies, or observations of questionable things, and even references to a site for posts by former crew members (who have a lot to say about exaggerations noticed between events that happened and the Tour of Duty book about Kerry (from his diary). I was just curious if Swiftees (who are the strongest group making these charges against Kerry) keep up with all the blog stuff....or, if it even matters to them.

REVISING HISTORY -- JOHN KERRY STYLE
With all of the blogosphere (and reluctantly traditional media) buzzing about John Kerry's ever changing story regarding the seared image of his illegal Christmas in Cambodia, it is helpful to look back at one of Kerry's earlier revisions. In a Boston Globe story, dated April 24, 2004 touting the wounds John Kerry received for his 2nd Purple Heart, there is a curious paragraph regarding John Kerry's revising his service record in Vietnam:
The Kerry campaign removed a 20-page batch of documents yesterday from its website after The Boston Globe quoted a Navy officer who said the documents wrongly portrayed Kerry's service. Edward Peck had said he -- not Kerry -- was the skipper of Navy boat No. 94 at a time when the Kerry campaign website credited the senator with serving on the boat. The website had described Kerry's boat as being hit by rockets and said a crewmate was injured in an attack. But Peck said those events happened when he was the skipper. The campaign did not respond to a request to explain why the records were removed.
In this same report, the last paragraph mentions that the Kerry campaign was to release all his militray records, only to change their mind. However, the final sentence says that once again, the Kerry campaign reversed itself and will subsequently release the records. That was April 24, 2004. We're still waiting.
Be sure to check out the Boston Globe's helpful, Attack/Counterattack on John Kerry's military service record and the ever increasing questions regarding the truth of his medals.
