Quote: | Letter to my Congress-Rat
Congressman Wynn (Md-4);
I am a Soldier and a resident of Maryland.
I have served this state and nation in uniform, with one break in service, since 1974.
I have served a tour in Iraq as a combat Infantryman, and am preparing for another.
My son has fought in Iraq.
My father fought in Germany in World War II.
My Grandfather fought in France in World War I, and his wife served in the AEF Signal Corps in France as well.
My family has given over 80 years of military service to this nation.
I listened to a great deal of the debate on the non-binding resolution passed on February 16, 2007. Your debate and subsequent vote was one of the most despicable actions I have ever seen a supposed representative of the people commit during time of war.
You say you support the troops, but oppose the mission.
I say you cannot support me while giving aid and comfort to the enemy I have faced and will soon face again.
Your actions encourage him and give him motivation to fight harder knowing that although I may defeat him in battle, you will defeat me from behind.
I do not challenge your right to oppose the President’s policy. Dissent is part of our heritage and guaranteed by our Constitution. However, during time of war, dissent by members of the government should conduct such discourse behind closed doors, where your actions are not seen and utilized by our battlefield opponents.
Actions have consequences. Unfortunately, you will not pay the consequences for your actions. I and my soldiers will.
You say you support the troops.
I say you are a liar.

One of troops posted this on another website. I thought that it was done in a dignified but direct manner.
I sure support his opinions though. _________________ Swift Boats - Qui Nhon (12/69-4/70), Cat Lo (4/70-5/70), Vung Tau (5/70-12/71) |
