did anyone else see t hat on Fox? I think it was the Cavuto show.

One of the guys was on telling about a petition they have to connect them with congress (thru email). They are submitting it (them? individual ones? I don't know)to tell congress that not supporting thier mission is not supporting them and they can win if they have time...

yeah for them!

seems if petition it should be 1 with a bunch of them signing it...
he said the majority of those over there will be signing it...

Compared to a lot of the younger ones from today's generation, and our own, these kids today are performing magnificently.

As long as we keep producing people like the majority serving in our Military today, America will turn out good, again.

I share your optimism, Lew.

Back in the 1970's, the outlook was bleak. But thanks to technological improvements the lines of communication have expanded.

There's light at the end of the tunnel, and it's not John Kerry with a Zippo.

When first reading this OP, I tried in vain to find some info on this interesting initiative. This morning I believe I found it in the "comments" to a post, "The Way to Debate Iraq" in "The Futurist" blog...

Quote:
Hello from Baghdad.

I’ve enjoyed your blog for quite awhile, and I found your techniques highly effective at debating Iraq war critics. Cognitive dissonance prevents them from actually admitting to themselves they are wrong, but at least they appear to start thinking. I’ve also asked the question

"If you oppose the Iraq war, how would you prevent another 9/11?"
(ed. DKOS link not provided here) to show that war opponents have no workable alternatives (I don’t recall where I first read it, may have been this site). Shockingly, I've since been banned from DKos, despite my respectful tone.

I’m launching a site tomorrow for active duty military to voice their opposition to congressional calls to retreat and media efforts to undercut our mission, www.AppealForCourage.org. With your permission I’d like to reprint this article and your “decisively win in ‘08’ articles in their entirety. Of course I’ll link back here as the source.

Thanks for your rational analysis of world events, keep up the good work.

Regards,
LT Nichols

For the life of me I can't understand why our military, especially those in harm's way have to petition Congress to do "the right thing"!
All those congressmen took the same oath as the rest of us, including all military men and women currently serving US!
"To protect and defend the constitution of the United States."
Constitutionally all American have "the right to life liberty and pursuit of happiness".
Way too many American's lost those rights in the hands of islamo-terrorist. Unprovoked mind you.
This is not a short-term war in Iraq; the war on terror didn't start
on 9-11, it started in 1979 when terrorists attacked our embassy and took Americans hostage. (For 444 days)
That was an "act of war", but we had a pu**y for president at the time, and he fought off the attack with "fireside chats" on national TV. (Peanut Farmer)
We were attacked numerous other times, culminating on the 9-11.
Now the likes of Murtha, Pelosi and hundreds of other weenies want to take our armed forces equipment to end the war.
What a bunch of treasonous traitors!
Well guess what Murtha and Pelosi; you are a disgrace to the American way.
AMERICAN ends in ICAN, not IRAN.
Taking away their tanks, helmets, body armor, guns? Will not stop the war.
Taking all our troops out of Iraq? That won't stop the war.
No sir, the terrorists will "bring it on", right to our front door.
And none of our brothers, our sisters, our kids or us will be safe anywhere in the world, OR AT HOME.
May God help us all!

This war started in the Jefferson administration with the Corsairs of Tripoli.
It will likely continue for a hundred or more years into our future.
This is not a short term problem.

buffalojack,

has been awhile hasn't it! and if we had Jack Pershing in Congress instead of Jack Murtha, we wouldn't be having this discussion!

somehow, somewhere, some 'americans?' have lost their way...Thank God the Swifties helped some of us renew our faith in 'the majority'!

Deuce, I'll have even more faith in the majority if they ever wake up.

How shameful is it that our Troops, in harms way, fighting for our freedom and protection, as well as for the Iraqis, feels the need to petition Congress for SUPPORT?

I agree everyone! not sure if Nichols was the guy.... I'll try to remember to see if I taped it tomorrow... I think I did...

anyway, we have a lot of treasonous people in high places...
and then all of their followers...

reminds me of the VC agenda - about positioning themselves inito
high places of influence etc... congress... schools (all levels) and the media

sort of 'sleeper cells' as they sort of quietly brainwashed a few generations thru 'education' and media blitz. A bit at a time... like take an inch and if you survive (them) take a mile (and they have).

so we've got 'em in all levels of government also - from local law makers, mayors, state reps, school boards, you name it! they infiltrated.
