The Don Imus Episode is Sickening
The mistake Don Imus made is not being radical enough for the far left. The left has no problem when black men call black women the N word as well as bxxxx and ho. The left does not care about these particular black women. What they do care about is any person who would possibly bring about something positive within the black community.
Positive? How can calling these women “nappy headed ho’s” be positive? Well a good comedian when tackling negative issues can often find humor to draw awareness to a problem. In this particular instance Imus might have used poor language, but his intent was harmless and one might even guess positive.
He would have been wiser to comment on their tattooed masculinity and postulated that if they are women, they are hardly pretending to be ladies. At what point did women in the black community lose their femininity? The same time the men lost their masculinity?
These are questions which should be asked.
Al Roker writes, “What he said was vile and disgusting. It denigrated an entire team and by extension, a community and its pride in a group that had excelled.”
Al, are you as hard on black men who have made it common to denigrate black women? Al, have you watched BET lately, and seen what passes for entertainment at the expense of black women in your community of late? No of course not. You are a black elite who despises and loathes people of your same skin color.
In the 2004 election cycle we had a president running for office during war and Dan Rather tried to use his position as a news anchor to remove him from office with fraudulent documents. No one on the left said a thing. Two and a half years later a liberal Don Imus makes a bad choice of words when trying to be funny about something which should be talked about and he is tarred, feather and demanded to resign from the same people who chose to be quiet while our President was attacked during war by much worse means and of much greater consequence.
All of this while tonight on BET and elsewhere black men will be talking about what a Nxxxer, bxxxx and ho some cute black woman is.
And that will be common and normal. Whatever hurts the black community right and let’s never talk about the way those Rutgers ‘women’ look shall we? _________________ "An activist is the person who cleans up the water, not the one claiming its dirty."

These celebs who grow a reputation and following for being non-PC walk a fine line. Their fans love them and then one incident takes them just over the line and they are a paraiah.
I never liked Imus to begin with, but this is what happens when you make your living on the edge. _________________ Swift Boats - Qui Nhon (12/69-4/70), Cat Lo (4/70-5/70), Vung Tau (5/70-12/71) |

Good article written by a sane and intuitive person.
LIke Squidley said, can't improve on the article; it's just good. _________________ Swift Boats - Qui Nhon (12/69-4/70), Cat Lo (4/70-5/70), Vung Tau (5/70-12/71) |

I'm afraid that the race card isn't the issue this time... Imus is just the poster child for a new frontal attack on all conservative talk shows (Imus is conservative to commies). Watch for all the upcoming Fairness Doctrine news over the weekend and the upcoming weeks and months to the 2008 election. I'll eat my words if conservative talk radio (and some blogs I know) are still standing come Nov. 2008. Guess I'm that much of a pessimist when it comes to Congress to believe they'll keep their mitts off this one, this time!
