Just when I thought my loathing of Jimmy Carter had reached its apex, the President Emeritus of our shadow government pipes-in again...

Carter attacks Blair for 'blind' support of US in Iraq
May 19 08:07 AM US/Eastern

Former US president Jimmy Carter on Saturday attacked outgoing Prime Minister Tony Blair for his "blind" support of the Iraq war, describing it as a "major tragedy for the world".

In an interview with BBC radio, Carter was asked how he would describe Blair's attitude to US President George W. Bush. He replied: "Abominable. Loyal, blind, apparently subservient.

"I think that the almost undeviating support by Great Britain for the ill-advised policies of President Bush in Iraq have been a major tragedy for the world."

<snip>

On Iraq, he said he hoped the unpopularity of the "unwarranted invasion" in Britain and the United States would lead to a withdrawal of troop.

Is Carter still trying to build a legacy beyond his failure as president?

If he had acted decisively in 1979 we might not be in the war we are in now!

Actually I think we'd all a been much better off if Jimmuh had stuck to peanut farming in 1969, instead of ruining my impression of life in Georgia in 1969 and 1970...sure made the trip to Vietnam in 1970 a lot easier tho'. The alternative would have been staying in Georgia for more political abuse by the first Communist Governor of Georgia!

That said, just in case my point isn't crystal clear, I agree with you 110%.

Just today, Carter also said that George W. Bush was the worst President ever.

Carter should look in a mirror, if he wants to see the worst President ever.

...and, just a small correction. Carter actually said that President Bush's administration is "the worst in history" in international relations.

But I maintain my original point.

Look in the mirror Jimmy.

Before I just thought Dhimmi Carter was just incompetent. Now I'll have to change that to incompetent, nasty and anti-American.

I think he ate too many of his peanuts and it shrunk his brain.

The only place Carter should be allowed to speak is in a vacuum.

He and Ron Paul must be buddies. 'Good' buddies. They keep climbing out of the same hole.

It was Jimmah that let Islamic radicals takeover Iran DURING his so-called "presidency". He actually "negotiated-away" the Shah's government and any semblance of order in that country. We can thank Carter for the mess we have in Iran now! And now this morning, al-queda is fighting the Lebanese troops in Tripoli. If Harry Reid, Murtha and Pelosi think that Iraq will be peaceful when we pullout, ALL THREE should take a long look at Lebanon this morning! Al-queda is listening to every word those morons in congress are saying and they are feeling pretty feisty right now and moving into new areas. Will SOMEBODY PLEASE tell the dems that we are at war?!!

Doing some digging around, I discovered that Carter did indeed take some action after the Iranian Hostage ordeal. However, what he took was ineffective and we are still dealing with his mistakes all these years later.

I have spoken about some of it here: Jimmuh, What Have You Done?

Ohh this is too funny. It is priceless. I was a young voter during the 4 Carter years. There is a good reason he was not given a second term. [anyone else remember the long lines, everything in short supply, and hostages in Iran because the Carter presidency did nothing to keep the Shaw in power, and a weakened US military because of cutting them back to nothing? ] Moral was at an all time low in the US. He stunk as a president and he stinks as a former president.
