Amidst the nauseating hypocrisy of media paeans for "Unity", Jeffrey Shapiro (Jean Fraud Kerry legal team escapee) brings home a point...

Quote:
The Treatment of Bush Has Been a Disgrace
What must our enemies be thinking?
By JEFFREY SCOTT SHAPIRO
Wall Street Journal
November 5, 2008

The treatment President Bush has received from this country is nothing less than a disgrace. The attacks launched against him have been cruel and slanderous, proving to the world what little character and resolve we have. The president is not to blame for all these problems. He never lost faith in America or her people, and has tried his hardest to continue leading our nation during a very difficult time.

Our failure to stand by the one person who continued to stand by us has not gone unnoticed by our enemies. It has shown to the world how disloyal we can be when our president needed loyalty -- a shameful display of arrogance and weakness that will haunt this nation long after Mr. Bush has left the White House.

Mr. Shapiro is an investigative reporter and lawyer who previously interned with John F. Kerry's legal team during the presidential election in 2004.

Translation:

It's a disgrace how the media has been disrespecting the office of President. That's going to stop (beginning in January).

I suspect we'll be hearing that a lot more than we have in the last 8 years.

Obama has bitten off a lot more than he can chew and everyone around the world knows it, especially our enemies. There will be a "Cuban Missile Crisis" type of scenario to test his reaction, count on it.

I for one am proud of the character and compassion G.W. Bush has shown during his time in office.
Methinks we won't see a class act like his AND his wife's maybe ever again.
For all those who can't see it.....their loss.

Probably not in my lifetime will I see his equal. I haven't always agreed with him, but I think he is a good man, and he's been a good president, in spite of any disagreements that I've had with him.

He has been severely disrespected, and that's a mark against our own countrymen for the disgraceful manner in which they treated him.

Laura Bush has been what the First Lady is supposed to be, she will be a hard act to follow for liberals.

I agree. He's been good. and even at the times I yelled at the tv etc for him
to speak up for himself etc - I really did admire
that he could hold himself above the nastiness etc

That showed who was the better person. He did the same even in 2000 -
while Gore was out grabbing mics to tell everyone how he should be prez,
bush stayed silent and let it play out without jumping into the mud with him.

He's definitely a better person than I could be in that situation.

that won't be the case with BO. He's already showed us that part of him...
payback is his game.

Bush can leave office with his integrity and dignity intact. BO can't even
go into the office with that.

Bush would not mix it up with his adversaries because he believes that would denigrate the office, and that a President should be above that. He has been very respectful the office of President. Anyone remember how his predecessor treat it?

Dubya and Laura are both class people.

I left the following on their comments page last evening.

They chose not to include it.

Quote:
Nice words coming out, now.

Sorry if that seems a little bitter, but over the last 8 years, many of us volunteer and small time bloggers stood by President Bush through the onslaught from the media and Democrats. We were ignored and ridiculed by many, yet saw that even with Bush's shortcomings, he was heads above his opposition.

We stood mostly alone as even Republicans distanced themselves, in order to look "bi-partisan."

Our enemies, once again, laugh at us as they realize just what the North Vietnamese realized, the defeat of America is easily found in the media, the streets, the courts and the legislature, not our Military.

Don't blame Bush for the heavy loses tonight. Every time any of you sided with the Socialist Democrats in denigrating a decent President, you just told others what a lousy party we have. Blame yourselves, leave Bush out of it.

When he was standing tall and taking it all on his shoulders, where were you?

Even when we disagreed, when we too were angry at what he was doing, not once did he pass the buck and blame others.
