Reported in the Boston Herald

Quote:
Sen. John Kerry skips town on sails tax
By Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa
Friday, July 23, 2010
Sen. John Kerry, who has repeatedly voted to raise taxes while in Congress, dodged a whopping six-figure state tax bill on his new multimillion-dollar yacht by mooring her in Newport, R.I.

Isabel - Kerry’s luxe, 76-foot New Zealand-built Friendship sloop with an Edwardian-style, glossy varnished teak interior, two VIP main cabins and a pilothouse fitted with a wet bar and cold wine storage - was designed by Rhode Island boat designer Ted Fontaine.

--------------------

Cash-strapped Massachusetts still collects a 6.25 percent sales tax and an annual excise tax on yachts. Sources say Isabel sold for something in the neighborhood of $7 million, meaning Kerry saved approximately $437,500 in sales tax and an annual excise tax of about $70,000.

I get nauseous every time I recall how close this character came to being President of the United States.

But have no fear, Kerry is always there to vote for your and my taxes to increase and leave us no way to get around them.

It cannot be forgotten either, that Kerry is currently listed as the wealthiest Senator seated.

Quote:
"While we can fault the senator for his hypocrisy on taxes or having his boat built halfway around the world instead of here in the USA, John Kerry proves an important point that taxes in Massachusetts are too high. If they are too high for someone as rich as Senator Kerry, they are absolutely too high for working-class taxpayers who are being squeezed at every turn," said a statement issued by [Republican] party Chairwoman Jennifer Nassour.

So, Kerry not only screws his state out of a half million dollars in taxes, but "outsources" the construction of it as well?

The hypocrisy of the left is glaring!!!!

"Kerry spokesperson David Wade said..."

...That's all I needed to see to know corruption was afoot. After supporting Kerry's lies about his military record, I suppose he's still good enough to be the spokesman for the head embarrassment of the former "Band of Bums".

Kerry recently told Washington Times' Kelly Pickett, it's Not a yacht but a sailboat

"There's no issues. Everything is resolved. There is no question."

No, just the little matter of the wealthiest member of the Senate caught trying to avoid half a million dollars in taxes.
