Sad news hearing that CSM Basil Plumley passed away earlier today at the age of 92

Retired CSM Basil Plumley dies, Fort Benning mourns loss

CSM Plumley was portrayed in the movie "We Were Soldiers" by actor Sam Elliot.

America lost a hero today.

Loved that movie and I loved that character. I've read that Elliott played him pretty close - CSM Plumley was apparently a real curmudgeon. As an admirer of curmudgeons, I'm sorry there is one less in the world, today.

I pray that he is in the care of our good God and that his family and friends are comforted in their mourning.

CSM, pray for your country.
